Amalia Triantafillidou

Holder of Jean Monnet Chair in Risk and Crisis Communication in the EU

Amalia Triantafillidou is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and Digital Media at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece. She holds a PhD in Marketing from Athens University of Economics and Business. She is the holder of Jean Monnet Chair in Risk and Crisis Communication in the EU. Her research interests focus on public relations, strategic communication, crisis communication management, and customer experience management. She has published in referred journals such as International Journal of Strategic Communication, Public Relations Inquiry, Computers in Human Behavior, Public Relations Review, International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, Journal of Hospitality Marketing and Management, etc.

Dr Triantafillidou teaches courses related to Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Crisis Communication, Corporate Branding and Consumer Behaviour.

Georgios Lappas (PhD in Computer Science) is a Professor of Information Technology with emphasis on Social and Political Sciences at the Communication and Digital Media Department, University of Western Macedonia, Greece.

He is an author of more than 100 published papers in International Referred Journals, International Referred Conference Proceedings and Book Chapters, including papers in I.J. of Information Technology and Politics, New Media and Society, Local Government Studies, I.J. of Electronic Governance, Online Information Review, Journal of Political Marketing, IJ of Artificial Intelligence Tools etc. and in proceedings of various International Conferences. His main research interests are in Social Informatics, E-Government, E-Democracy, Online Politics, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Marketing, Online Reputation Management, Web Mining, Opinion Mining, Artificial Intelligence, Web Intelligence, Social Network Analysis.

Prodromos Yannas is Professor of International Relations and Communication-Publicity in the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Attica. He holds a BA in Economics from the College of Wooster (1981), an MA in Political Science from Miami University (1982) and a PhD in International Relations from the American University (1989).  The research interests of Professor Yannas span three areas: International Relations, Public Relations and Political and Crisis Communication. His publications have appeared in refereed journals, books chapters and international conference proceedings. He is currently member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Electronic Government Research

Domna Michail is a Professor of Anthropology of Education, Migration and Minorities. She has a PhD in Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics (LSE) in Great Britain. Her research interests and scientific work focus on the study of social structures and organization of western and non-western societies, the anthropology of education, migration studies, nationalism, ethnicity and minorities.

Stamatis Poulakidakos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Digital Media, University of Western Macedonia (UOWM). He holds a PhD degree from the Department of Communication and Media Studies (NKUA). He is specialized in media monitoring, propaganda and quantitative content analysis. He has taken part in many research projects and in various Greek and international conferences. He has authored the book “Propaganda and Public Discourse. He co-edited “Media events” A critical contemporary approach (London: Palgrave-McMillan). In addition, he has published several papers on political communication, propaganda, refugees/immigrants, social media and the public sphere, political advertisements, social movements and other media related issues.

Maria Matsiola is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Digital Media, University of Western Macedonia. She received her PhD on New Technologies on Journalism, from the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, AUTh in 2008. Her scientific interests include new media technologies & studies, web & broadcast radio and television, audiovisual content management, audiovisual application systems in journalism education. Maria Matsiola has been involved in many research projects on the aforementioned fields of study and she has authored many scientific articles. She teaches courses related to journalism and new media, and audiovisual productions.
